we went to the indian place in burlington last night. As you might imagine places open on sunday nights are few and far between. This place is fairly new and it was a nice treat to see that it didnt suck. I got the tandoor mixed grill. it came with shrimp lamp chicken, etc. i have been sticking to the tandoor stuff at indian rest. because i cant be sure about the flour contact of teh rest of the sauces. getting that though is kind of like getting fajitas at chili.
I had leftovers for lunch. but am still starving thanks to the stupid steroids. I just looked in the mirror and realized they are making my cheeks look like chipmunk cheeks.

on my way to work to day i swung through the drive thru to get a taco supremo salad. I get to work and sit down to assemble the thing and its missing the chili. I ate it and moped for the rest of the day. I went to complain on my way home and they gave me another one, so I ate the salad for dinner too, this time with the chili.
a sonic burger joint has recently opened up a little ways from my work. i wasn't that impressed. it tasted like every other fast food burger i've had. not that great. their tater tot's, however, were delish.

we sold our washer/dryer for full price so we celebrated and went out to eat. we were gonna eat at one of the places at the mall and were deciding between cheesecake factory and pf changs and decided on changs solely because it was closer. we had ribs as an appetizers and i had a vegetarian flat rice noodle dish. noah had a lo mein combo and i kept eating the steak and shrimp out of it.

today i got a free 4x6 (4 salads, six fallafels). the girl at the counter remebered me so i acted all flattered and flirted with her. she got all blushy and super shy to my surprise, she gave me the lunch for free! which is great cause it costs close to $10. i just don't know when i should go back and if i can expect to get it free again.

went with chesty to this incredible sandwich place. its worth to go and endure the bitchy little cashier who looks like a grown up child star. he looks alot like the nerd from silver spoons. not the way he actually looks now, but the way youd figured he'd look.
anyway i had a ham sandwich on rye with meunster, marinated red onions, and honey mustard. totally delish. and i had a cup of fresh butternut squash and wild rice soup. the rice saved it. it wouldve been another case of baby food soup without it.

well if ya'll thought monday was whoa i'm not even sure i should post today's. i was running late so i asked if noah could drop lunch by to me since he was working from home today. My lunches take a lot longer to make these days, so i ws very appreciative when he said yes. when he came by I was busy with some visitors so i just thanked him and then saw the lunch. I cant decide if it was brilliant or repulsive. but it was:
three hard tacos with bits of an all beef hotdog, grilled onions, boiled red cabbage, and sour cream; a bunch of grapes and three slices of plum. it was mostly all purple.

Today's lunch on a scale of 1-10 was about a 5. It was a 10 for taste and a 0 for the guilt it induced, so 5 overall. And it was... a Carl's cheeseburger w/fries and a coke. There was also a lot of mayonnaise on the burger which reminds me of a North v. South grilled cheese debate. When we moved to NC when I was 5 from Michigan we were horrified to find out that some people in NC put mayonnaise on their grilled cheese. My question, to this day, is why, WHY?

My lunch is gross today which is why I wanted to post it. I'm having a turkey sandwich. The gross part is that I hate cheap wheat bread, which is what the turkey is on. And I don't mean that I just don't like it - I mean I really hate the taste of it. (It is currently 2nd on my list of foods that I hate but occasionally eat. The first is anything with banana flavor including bananas. And sometimes I force myself to eat bananas because they are good for me which is where the hatred of them came from) And even worse than that is the fact that the two pieces of bread are the end pieces. They're all hard and burned-tasting.
Chevy, I can't believe you ate a salad quietly while you were on the phone. That's impressive.

Subway 6" veggie on white. Barbecue chips and a mountain dew. There's a BBQ place here in Portland that makes ketchup-based BBQ. The pork sandwich grosses me out, but they have great beans and rice and mac and cheese. I went there on Sunday to get a sweet tea, because that's good too, but this time it tasted like somebody peed in it or something. It was awful. It might have burned me from sweet tea for quite awhile. I've never had tea that sweet - it made my stomach hurt.

so i attempted something close to gluten free. I had 2 corn tortillas with turkey and cheddar and mushrooms, and corn tortilla chips with some salsa i made with cider vinegar to make it GF. with cheddar cheese and sour cream. Im not so sure that Sour cream is okay, and the cheese and turkey might have some wheaty preservative in it. I bought them pre doctors visit so i dont know. and the canned tomatoes i used might be wheaty. I dont have time for this shit. or the money. i need a fucking personal chef to deal with this bullshit.

In case you were tempted, do NOT buy the UTZ's chunky cheddar pretzels. I dont remember what they are really called actually. They are N-AAASTY. I had those, the ginger snaps that come in those brown bags at the grocery store, a turkey "wrap" and an orange. Once again, this outlet has reminded me why i love this blog. Because i can talk shit about all the food/food places that do me wrong. Take that cheddar utz, you suck. (I love utz' salt and pepper potato chips though.)

i'm ready to blow up because i just took myself out to my new favorite place: todai sushi buffet. ok, yeah, i know a sushi buffet might sound kind of raunchy, but it's actually rather fabulous. there's tons of non-raw-fish asian food, as well as all sorts of salads, a smiling man with a gold tooth who makes crepes and says "mmmm, tasty" when he hands one to you, and a cute section of bite sized desserts like mocha cake, white chocolate and almond tart, creme puffs and more. i totally pigged out on the sushi, the tempura, the "mmmm, tasty" crepe and some desserts. (p.s. sorry i haven't been posting lately. you know, crap to do and all. you understand. but i must add, food in new york city is both delish and affordable.)

I had turkey on sourdough which was really good from a local market in Lake Oswego. The sandwich maker took a lot of pride in her work, which I admire. They even had the sandwich pickles (the ones where they slice the cucumber length-wise instead of the regular way. And I got gummy rasberries/blueberries for dessert.

I had a turkey/cucumber pita and grapes. and a i'm eating a tangelo, but it is kind of mushy. i got a new subscription to cooking light from henry's magazine sale, and tonight i think i'm gonna make these things that are bread stuffed with meat and cabbage. you make 10 at a time and they can be frozen.
