what i had for lunch

Thursday, December 30, 2004

we went to el rodeo and had margaritas. this may not have been the best idea. i only had one and am feeling pretty crazy.

Wednesday, December 29, 2004

even though i hate chinese food we had pf changs for lunch. it was delicious too. i kinda like the taste of some chinese food i am just always terrified i am going to get a cig butt in my food cause of what happened to chevy or i am afraid i am going to get hepatitis cause of what happened to me.

so after all the complaining, i happily ate every bite of my meal then reached to get my fortune cookie. the big boss of my group demanded i trade with him. his said something like "you are a genius and are going to get a promotion." mine said (and i quote) "a cheerful letter or message is on its way to you." this is a bs fortune cause it is christmas time so everyone is getting millions of cheerful emails and christmas cards.

i complained so much that we decided to do it again. his said something like "you will be the smartest person int he room at all times." mine said (and i quote) "you can always trust your friends." another bogus fortune.

and yes, i ate both of them.
yesterday i had my own homemade chili! i put 3 tablespoons of chili powder along with green peppers, onion, kidney beans and a can of tomoatoes.

delish!

Today I ate at a place called "the market" in Larimer square. It's kinda like a grocery store/restaurant, it's very european in that way (see picture below). I had the jubalaya pie and although it was good my stomach has been rumbling ever since. nothing has happened yet but i'm afraid that when it does, it's gonna be bad.

Tuesday, December 21, 2004

i went with casey my lead guitarist to the elephant bar. it was a good lunch because i was pretty much done with work so i had a couple pints of pale ale and casey had a couple pints of bass. beers at lunch mid-week is always a good thing in my humble opinion. elephant bar has a kind of south-pacific menu. lotta fish and salads and seafood but they also have other stuff. i had the fried shrimp po' boy and they pretty much doused the thing with tartar, which was not the bomb. i wanted a shrimp po' boy, not a tartar sandwich. the fries were mediocre and too soggy.

Monday, December 20, 2004

i ate at fatburger for the first time today, even though it's a las vegas classic. i think they call it "fatburger" cuz one of the first things they ask you is: would you like chili, bacon, cheese, or egg on your fatburger today? my reply to that query was a resounding "no" but don't think i didn't play with the idea of eating such a scrumptious burger just to experience a party in my mouth with everyone invited. the burger was good and the onion rings melted in my mouth. all in all a good lunch.
Today was our company xmas lunch. I signed up to bring the mac and cheese. I didn’t b/c yesterday was too shitty and I didn’t get to the store. ( my hangover was also a factor). So today when my boss came and picked me up I made him go to the ham place ( cos I had to get the ham anyway) and I got potatoes au gratin and stuffing. Everything else was in the casserole variety or pie. I managed to control myself and only have 3 deviled eggs.

Wednesday, December 15, 2004

we went to red robin today and i got the 5 alarm burger which includes pepperjack chz, jalepenos, salsa, and chipotle mayo. it's good and one thing i really like about the dirty bird industries is the bottomless steak fries, although i never get through my original basket. it's just the idea that's appealing to me.

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

i had hot and sour soup ... my favorite soup in the world. i wish i could make it as good as a chinese restaurant! anyhoo, i also had crab puffs and sweet and sour pork but i didn't eat all of it and the boy got to eat my leftovers. i'm such a wonderful wife2be ... right ?

xoxo,
kasey
I got the taco salad from Wendy's. Not surprisingly the meat was sorta sick. But I ate the whole thing in 80 seconds anyway. Also I had a pack of those fucking hot and spicy peanuts.

Friday, December 10, 2004

today i went to Jimm John's and got a Big John Sub. The sandwhich was good (not scrumpy) but the bread was great. my office will be moving next week. this should open up a whole new world in lunch options for me.
today being a half-day at work, i went to lunch at il vicino's with the roomie and another friend. they both got the pesto panini chicken sandwich, which is what i normally get and includes chopped grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, onion, and a delectible pesto spread. this time though i had the capicola ham and turkey sandwich with a side caesar. il vicino's caesar salads are quite the bomb because the caesar dressing is made the real way with anchovies and they even throw on a little anchovie on top. i don't eat the anchovies though.

Thursday, December 09, 2004

I went to lunch with a client/friend today. They have that bread that you stick in the herbed olive oil. I only sort of like it but I always eat it as tho it's my last meal. Anyway I got linguine, chicken, mushrooms and artichokes in a lemon taragon cream sauce. It was major delish, but I ate too much and now I feel like a grease ball. God knows I need a cream sauce like a hole in my head.

Wednesday, December 08, 2004

i went with my monthly pr group to mcmenamins and had the best roast beef sandwich covered in sauted onions on the best bread EVER. if you're ever in the pacific northwest you'll have to try mcmenamins!

xoxo,
k

Monday, December 06, 2004

today i went to q'doba with a couple coworkers. q'doba's pretty much like chipotle, but i still say it tastes better. i used to get the vegetarian burrito, not because i'm a vegetarian (which i'm not) but because it's quite delish (not meaning to sound too much like chevy valentine et al). i don't get the vegetarian burrito anymore though, since i discovered the magical magnificently modest chicken quesadillas. these are quite possible the most bomb-ass quesadillas i've had anywhere. i think quesadilla-making is underrated. i also splurged and got a damn chocolate chip cookie. it's getting harder and harder for me to resist getting sweets.

Tuesday, November 30, 2004

today i had a roast beef sandwich on whole wheat with grey poupon, lettuce, pickles and low fat cheese. the pickles totally made the sandwich delish.
I went to the indian restaraunt's buffet. Every single table was people sitting by themselves, reading a book. Delish.

Monday, November 29, 2004

By last night everyone was totally sick of turkey. My mom went to the store after church and got sausage to make sausage and peppers. I talked her into letting me make spaghetti out of it instead which was way more awesomer. ( I didn't mean to sound that much like LSE) Anyway I went to their house for lunch and ate that. Also I had some Alouette and crackers.

Tuesday, November 23, 2004

i had quizno's at noon thirty. regular honey bacon club on wheat. veeery exciting.
Virginni, Megan and I went to a Mexican restaraunt in Cary. Megan ate a veggie burrito & beans, Ginni had a combo # 11 that consisted of a chile relleno, a flauta and a quesadilla, I think. I had the lunch portioned order of carnitas. Noone wanted to go back to the office afterward. Its rainy and everyone's just looking to Thanksgiving.

Monday, November 22, 2004

i went to the printing company to have thanksgiving lunch. it was complete with everything youd imagine, turkey, ham, a million kinds of potatoes, etc etc. it was covered dish.

the most important element was that green marshmallow salad stuff that only appears at the holidays. i love that shit. i can eat it til im sick. the woman that made it said she wasnt going to make it but knew id have a stroke about it so she did anyway.

my brother and his baby mama and my mom showed up with the baby.

Tuesday, November 16, 2004

yesterday i went to sushi thai with my coworkers. i had to take some clothes to the dry cleaners so i made them all walk with me to the dry cleaners in the shopping center. as we were passing another one of the restaurants we saw the cfo of our company in a restaurant. one of my coworkers said "hey isn't that d.?" and just as if to confirm what we already knew the loudspeaker said "d. your order is up." sadly, it was pretty exciting for us all.

i had the pork pad thai. you get soup and a spring roll with your lunch. you can get salad instead of soup but the server did not give us the option and mentioned nothing about either app. so from the second the server left i was convinced we were going to get screwed. when the soup came i was 50% relieved (i like the soup better than the salad anyways), but when our food came and we had recieved no spring roll i was in full panic mode. luckily he brought it to us after we had been eating for a couple of minutes. i think the 4 of us were ready to riot.

Thursday, November 11, 2004

i got the pulled pork panini. i was hoping that someone would buy the blue iced cupcakes so that we could eat them, but no one offered them up. which was okay since elizabeth can't eat them and we would have just been a bunch of jerks eating cupcakes.
virginia invited me to lunch with her coworkers again today. She had a Lucy's card, which gave us 20% off of our lunch at Cafe Carolina. However, using the Lucy's card proved harder than it would seem. But finally I got the Chicken Salad in a Bowl. The chicken salad there is real dilly, and good. I used to order it on a crossiant with cucumbers added, and that was terrific. The bowl isn't quite as good as that, but it does come with a cheese/veggie skewer, and of course, skewers make everything better. I also ordered a side of potato salad b/c last time I got the bowl o' lunch it was not very much and i was concerned about being hungry. But the food preparer this time scooped on the goodness so now I have enough for lunch tomorrow too.

Wednesday, November 10, 2004

we went to Baja Fresh for lunch. I had the Chipotle Glazed Charbroiled Chicken Salad. It was pretty damn good. this is despite the fact that i was indicated to megan that i might eat lunch at her office.

megan gave me a bag of candy last night. today at work we have eaten candy non-stop. so i also had that for lunch. whenever i eat a laffy taffy, i stand in the middle of the room and read my 2 jokes. i think everyone hates me for it.
so is nobody eating lunch anymore?

i had a slice of pepperoni pizza and a bread roll with pepperoni on the inside, from the lockheed martin cafeteria. i love walking into that place all bundled up with my hoody and rain jacket and shit-kickers on, with 4 day's growth of beard and a beanie because everyone else is in their business-casual attire and looks all nice and so when they see a scrub walk through the doors it's almost like you hear the record scratch and stop, and everyone turns and looks at the rif-raf that just walked in.

Thursday, November 04, 2004

I had the usual for lunch: a peanut butter sandwich, an apple and a pack of crackers. I'm sick of peanut butter. Any ideas for nonrefridgerator lunches?

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

went to panera bread with a coworker. i usually get the half sandwich/salad combo for $6.19 (before tax) because it's a pretty good deal. they give you this piece of bread that i like to pick out the middle part and eat it plain and then tear the crust into pieces and mop up excess caesar and crouton bits. i got the pepperblue steak on ciabatta bread and a side caesar. not one of the best side caesars around (for sure not the bomb), but not bad.

rocked the vote via washington state absentee ballot yesterday, and while i won't say who i voted for, i will say that under the current administration lunch prices have been too high.

Monday, November 01, 2004

i went up to my parents house for lunch. the pickens were real slim. i ended up making this sort of ham quesadilla.

it wasn't that good. additionally i had a mealy apple.

Friday, October 29, 2004

I had leftovers from dinner last night -- we made pizza using the new gluten free bakery raw pizza dough. it was delish. way better than the frozen ones i've been eating. its about 10 inches instead of 4. It tasted like real pizza. It had pepperoni and tomatoes and basil and onions and green peppers.
It's Hotdog Day!! The operators decided to have chili dogs today for no reason. So one brought a crockpot of chili and hotdogs and another brought potato salad ( the kind with eggs in it! double delish!) and another made blueberry muffins.

Thursday, October 28, 2004

yesterday and today i had really bad lunches from the lockheed martin cafeteria. yesterday it was gross "mediterranean" "beef" "pita". there was nothing "mediterranean about the so-called beef and the pita was dry. topped that off with a bag of sun chips and a kit-kat bar.

then today i just got the pizza cuz i've had it before and it's decent, so i grab a couple slices that i didn't really want and that had been sitting under the heating lamp for a while and as soon as i go to pay, the cook lady walks out with a brand-frigging-new tray of piping hot pizza and i thought to myself 'damn my impatience!'.
I've been eating a lot of someting lately that's really good. A perfect combination of sour/sweet for dairy lovers. It's Nancy's non-fat vanilla yogurt with Vanilla Almond granola on top. The yogurt is really sour, even with the vanilla in it and the granola is really sweet. There's also some really good texture to the whole thing. And that's part of what I had for lunch.

Wednesday, October 27, 2004

we ate at neomonde again today.

I had the sampler platter with chicken salad, potato salad, cabbage salad, and dolmades. And some olives. a lot of olives.

Megan had the sampler platter too with lasagna, cabbage salad, potato salad, and something else with some pita.

they were selling giant dates with the rest of their desserts. the only thing i could think of that is worse than a giant date for dessert is a raisin.

Sunday, October 24, 2004

I satisfied my craving for all things fried at the State Fair today. I had a cup of french fries, a blooming onion that made me feel sick and some funnel cake. We also fed the baby goats and other animals. Now I'm feeling quite large and a little sick but it was worth it.

Friday, October 22, 2004

ate at samurai sushi near arapahoe and i-25. we got a bunch of stuff like miso soup, edamame, green tea, salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, sea urchin, shrimp, spicy tuna roll, and some more stuff that i wasn't able to eat. casey and i saw a guy sitting at a booth across from us drinking an asahi beer and we knew right then we must get beer. pretty much it was like there was a party in my mouth, and everyone was invited.

samurai sushi was decent, and had average happy hour prices for sushi. but i still haven't found a place that beats out the banzai restaurant near leetsdale and monaco.
Since I actually ate something other than a peanut butter sandwich today, I thought I would share.
I went to Moe Jo's and had a veggie burger with swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles. This was accompanied with the perfect side of fries, golden & crunchy outside and mushy in the middle. I highly recommend there if you are ever in Raleigh

Thursday, October 21, 2004

went to earl's today with casey my friend and lead guitar player in the nancy drews. earl's rhymes with girls. it's like they decided to only hire their waitstaff and hostesses from strip clubs. i had the garlic chicken club sandwich and a side caesar. earl's is really expensive and the only reason i go there is cuz casey is a stock broker and he buys. i bring the beers at band practice.

Wednesday, October 20, 2004

I had some Sloppy Joses and some baked beans. It was pretty good but sorta greasy. but stomach is doing some flips right now.

Megan ate an Amy's bean and cheese burrito and som Wise Potato Chips.
On Monday when I was at my parents my mom yelled at me for trying to get into these almond cookies she had. Apparantly they were for some church thing.

So I went up today for lunch... nobody was there....had leftover stew and egg noodles. Totally delish. And right when I was finishing up my mom walks in with the leftover almond cookies from the church thing! So I finally go to eat them. This was insanely radical.

Tuesday, October 19, 2004

i went to vegas last weekend and had lunch at my favorite spot to have lunch in all of vegas -- paymon's medditerranean cafe / hookah lounge. i've been going there for almost five years now and the quality of food has never diminished, although the service is not always the bomb.

the food is gourmet (without the gourmet price tag) and i always get the same thing but i've sampled other people's stuff so i know that it's not just what i'm getting that's good. so yet again i got the roasted red pepper and feta in pita, which also has cucumber, red onion, lettuce, and tzaziki sauce (i think). you gotta order the fries seperately, but whatever you do, don't forget the fries cuz they're totally awesomely spiced and they come with this mayonnaise-based dipping sauce that is also spicey and insanely radical to the taste bud.

oh yeah for an appetizer we had the hummus and pita and my only complaint would be more kalamata olives.

so after a spectacular dinner you can head right across the small courtyard to the hookah lounge for happy hour (half off hookahs, beers, and cocktails) from 5 to 7. this is so worth it, it would blow your freaking mind. sorry this post is so long, but if you ever find yourself in vega$, be sure and hit up medditerranean cafe and hookah lounge because they will rock your world for reals.

Monday, October 18, 2004

I have to do a presentation on Blogs at work on Wednesday. I may use this blog as an example of a blog in the presentation. Would it be okay with you guys if I did?
i went up the mountain to have lunch, but my mom's been out of town and there was no food at all. i went over to MP's to see what he had.. He made a salad with bleu cheese and balsamic vinagrette and leftover grilled lamb. He also had this amazing carrot soup that he makes. Its basically one part carrot 10 parts bleu cheese and 20 parts cream. Its fantastic but i couldnt eat all mine.
I made some chili yesterday to make the house not chilly. It was really good, but I packed a portion that was too big for lunch but too small to save any for leftovers so I just stuffed my face with it. Now I'm all groany.

Megan had squash and peas and ... something else I forget. Another vegetable.

Friday, October 15, 2004

we went to a paper vendors for lunch today. they have a huge pig pickin' 2 times a year. it is a lot of fun! everyone at our company goes, pretty much so we usually have the biggest group. my company is about 50 people big.

i had barbecue straight from the pig, cole slaw (mayo based), green beans, potatoes, baked beans, hush puppies, a roll, and a tiny slice of pumpkin pie and chocolate pecan pie.

it was just delicious. afterwards bh and i road back to the office and talked about weezer cruises. he had something similar in college, but it involved old van halen and an old beemer with a crank operated sun-roof.

Thursday, October 14, 2004

naked fajitas have a way of making me feel guilty. at least afterwards. i feel guilty.
last year's state fair adventure can be found here, on october 16, 2003.

I am so jealous of the fair food. But I had buckwheat (Kasha) pilaf, and Megan had soy cheese and macaroni.

Speaking of coworkers having dumb responses to lunches, What do you respond to:

"You guys always have such healthy lunches. Makes me feel guilty."

Especially since its not true.
mary ellen and i went to the fair for lunch today with a bunch of my co-workers. i had a philly cheesesteak and mary ellen and i shared a funnel cake with powdered sugar on it. mary ellen had a corn dog with mustard. the funnel cake was delish, but i am a little disappointed about the steak and cheese. i don't really know what i was thinking when i got that. i should have just stuck with a barbecue sandwich and/or a ham bisuit. that's what i really wanted.

last year we had a lot of exciting moments, like we saw one of my co-workers running at the fair. this year mary ellen and i almost knocked a clown head off the trashcan and when we were ordering our food with my friend sb, the guy serving the food said, "you really look like clay aiken." he really does look like him- but sb is cuter than clay. we joked that he should have a booth where he give autographs and lets people take his picture (he would, of course, advertise himself as a clay aiken look-a-like, nothing more).

Wednesday, October 13, 2004

went to del barfo, got the usual.

yesterday we tried to go to the new fatburger that opened up near the park meadows mall in b.f.e., but the line was so long that we just went next door to tokyo joe's.

i've got to start making my lunches at least 3 times a week again, but i'm so burnt out on pbj's/pb honeys, apples, bananas, granola bars (my standard "make at home lunch"). any idears on how to mix up/spice up/diversify "make at home" lunches?
yesterday and today i brought my lunch. i had the same thing both days. pasta with yellow pepper, red pepper, green pepper, onions and smart ground. to answer any of your questions that might duplicate the questions i got from co-workers:

1. i made it
2. it is good
3. there are 3 peppers
4. it is made with smart ground- which is vegetarian
5. no, veggie smart ground is not turkey
6. no, i am not a vegetarian
7. i eat meat, i just eat meat replacements sometimes
8. yes, i eat chicken, i eat meat!

most of these questions were paired. like the same person i told i made it with veggie smart ground then followed up with whether or not it was turkey.

today i was dreading eating it because of all the questions i got on monday. luckily one of my co-workers had something that was green that took the focus off what i was eating. everyone hated what he had. we both decided that we are going to put little signs up that answer the following questions.

1. homemade/ store bought/ left overs
2. if purchased, where
3. ingredients
4. whether or not it was good

Monday, October 11, 2004

today i went to einstein bagels and ate a sesame bagel with onion, lox and capers. it usually works but today it wasn't nearly enough.
yesterday we fired up the grill and I totally burnt the crap out of some porkchops. Mine was inedible, Noah and Henry could eat most of theirs. To get some use out of the charcoals, we stuck a chicken on the grill and roasted it. It came out pretty delicious. I stuck it in the table top convection (aka the nacho machine) for 30 minutes at the end when teh coals had died down.

I made chicken salad with the breasts last night and had chicken salad tacos for lunch today. It was pretty good, but could have used some more flavor. I also had a Lance Peanut Bar for dessert, which is pretty much pure sugar.

Megan had some pasta (maybe rigatoni?) in a marinara sauce with some fake ground meat. It wasn't a very big portion. She also had a carmel apple someone brought in to the office last week.

Friday, October 08, 2004

i went to Char-Grill for lunch today with mary ellen. i had a burger with mustard, slaw and onions, french fries and sweet tea. this morning i had a snack size snickers and a plum for breakfast. for second breakfast i had a Bojangles' chicken biscuit. i need to have vegetables for dinner!
usually on the fridays i work i go with a few people to wahoos! fish tacos and we take like a 2 hour lunch which is the bomb. but the normal crew isn't here today so i went by myself to jason's deli and got the club royale sandwich. it's loaded up with turkey and ham, some lettuce, tomato, and cheddar chz, and has this killer honey mustard spread, all in between a greasy delicious croissant. it comes with the standard fare of potato chips and a pickle, but i added a piece of cherry cheesecake, and indeed, it was scrumtrulescent.
we didn't realize the new taco bell was open, so we got wendy's. megan and i struck a deal. she ordered the taco supremo salad and sold the chili to me. I also had biggie. fries. So did Megan. Megan's food took up a lot of space on the table in the break room, even with her parting with the chili.
yesterday me and MP were going to this mexican place and on the way were just to Savoy when i hollared that we should go to savoy instead. He was all: i was hoping youd say that!

I got Penne alla vodka which was totally fantastic. Usually pasta with pancetta in it is good, but its usually like having these little fat balls to deal with. This pancetta was crisp and perfect.

Wednesday, October 06, 2004

today we had a lunch and learn at work. it was on media pitching. i had pizza and salad.

Tuesday, October 05, 2004

I went to Neomonde Bakery & Deli : The Alternative to the Ordinary : Since 1977 in Cary for lunch today. I had the Falafel half sandwich box lunch. i had potato salad and baba ghanouj for my sides and pistachio baklava for dessert. it was great. i went with my co-workers that have the same name.

last night i also had a falafel sandwhich for dinner. it was from international delight. that is the place that has all the rules. you can't use ketchup on anything except for french fries, you can't talk to anyone that is cooking, you can't slam the door and you get in trouble if your cell phone rings. ted went to pick up my food and i tried to catch him before he got there. instead i ended up calling him when he was in the restaurant. luckily he had his phone on manner mode and and just ignored me. therefore the owner did not catch him.

Monday, October 04, 2004

it's a typical standby for me but it fills the hole: today i had a gyro and seven falafel balls (they gave me one extra today).
Some info on members --

I think that out of regular posters we have mostly people from NC (from various parts of the state), and Hubs and now LSE, in Denver.

Irregular posters include people in OR, CA, DC, and more people in NC. But our membership has never meant to be exclusive, or limited. We have been regularly known to link to restaurant web sites, especially if we have been unhappy with the experience. We were the top hit for "Moe's Southwest Grill Sucks" for a long time, which I was proud of, especially since I really hate the place.

Spelling is often bad by all members. Because of this, we regularly get hits by people looking for our misspelled versions of recipes. I recently added a site meter to the bottom.

It is often incredibly boring. This fact is not lost on the authors, in fact, this is often reveled in.

The original authors chose to not link back to individual blogs from the homepage, for reasons I don't remember. We could change it, but I don't really see any reason too.

I'm glad that this is over a year old. I still think that its hilarious at times, and hope we continue. Welcome to new members. And I promise that just because we are sometimes mean to Hubs, it doesn't meanwe are really that mean.
why oh why oh why do i keep eating del taco i have no idea. but i did again today and i loved it. had chicken soft tacos, which are the bomb, and a bean and cheese burrito w/ green sauce.
megan went to go eat with bucho. i ate salad from home and some blueberry yogurt and read the newspaper. the biggest news to report seemed to be that Clay Aiken was in town last month, and his disguise of choice was a gilligan's island style hat.

Saturday, October 02, 2004

this is a late post, it's actually saturday but still friday in my mind cuz i just got home.

"today" i ate at max burgerworks and had a freakin phenomenal burger. southwest burger which includes pepperjack cheese, chipotle mayo, and onion rings. thing was stacked like a foot high and was very delicious. fries and onion rings on the side, and a fat tire to wash it all down with. a little pricey, but well worth it.

Friday, October 01, 2004

today i had a sicy thai tuna wrap fron the 16th street deli.

also, good ole sadie linked our lunch
I went with MP to this newish tex-mex place, Mamacitas. I like this place but they really nickel and dime you to death on the extras. I had two soft tacos, one with citrus chicken and one with chipotle chicken. The citrus was better. And I'm not just saying that cos Im so sick of people saying chipotle.

Thursday, September 30, 2004

i dont really like rice. i think it is filler and kinda gross. i only like it if it is swimming in sauce. but not some sick sweet sauce that tastes like ketchup- usually something curry based or cocnut milk based. because of this, i have never really like chinese food. i love egg rolls and i crave sesame chicken at times, but overall, don't really like it that much. plus i have really been off chinese food since checy ate the cigarette butt and i got the hep scare after eating at a place in durham. despite all of these obstacles, my co-workers convinced me that going to Mama Fu's for lunch was a good idea. they got me on the japanese and thai element.

the second we walked in i realized it was a huge mistake. it's Moe's Southwest Grill, but aisian themed. the cups were the same. the layout was the same, the signs were almost exactly alike and they even said "welcome to mama's" like they say "welcome to moe's." consumers are smarter than people think. we don't like thinly veiled reproductions of the same restaurant.
theres this little hole-in-the-wall luncheonette right down from where i work. its been there forever and its stupid cheap and its kind of sick and kind of delicious. thursday is beef tips day. my co worker is always making this big deal about them but most thursdays we're too late and they sell out.

finally i got beef tips today. they came over rice with gravy and i got pickled beets and a salad that was swimming in ranch ( in the good way)... also two biscuits. one was great and one was shitty.
today was a tokyo joe's day mostly because i wasn't feeling anything else.

so i had the regular chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies, and drizzled with spicy-aki sauce. mountain dew for the beverage. and of course eaten with chop-sticks while listening to jim rome in my truck.

Wednesday, September 29, 2004

Due to emergencies, today I had a couple of hot dogs with the works
I went to lunch with Ginni and her office again. I almost feel as if I work at her office since I talk to her coworkers more than mine. We went to neomonde. I got the samplet platter with chickpea salad, potato salad, pasta salad, and stuffed grape leaves. I ate a nutrageous back at the office b/c i was jealous of everyones baklava.

Monday, September 27, 2004

On Saturday Sally, Se, and Noah came into Asheville for a wedding. We went to the Greek Festival downtown. ( Also with us were MP and Ellen)... SE tried to get souvalki and ended up with this gyro and was super pissed about it. I think Noah ate the wrapper.

I had spanokopita and meatballs and Noah and me had struck up a Dolmades deal, so my lunch turned out fantastic.

Later I had baklava for the first time since i was a kid. I think its only ok.

Friday, September 24, 2004

megan and i were supposed to meet ted and ginni for lunch, but then ted bailed on us for some monkeys. somehow Hooters became the restaraunt of choice. When Ginni's coworkers realized where she was going they all tagged along. We had to wait a LOOONNNG time. It felt kind of ridiculous to wait 30 minutes for hooters. Apparently our waitress was really dumb, or really new. I couldn't hear that well, and just quit trying. Everyone kind of got mesmerized by the atmosphere, and everyone watched their own personal flat screen tv showing sportscenter and poker.
It took forever, and we ended up taking a two hour lunch. then our boss showed up, and was eating by himself so megan sent him over an Icehouse.

I had the flappertizer, a side salad, and baked beans. and ginni's coworker's leftover cold fry ends.

I feel totally barfy.

good ole american fries and hamburger. the guy beind the counter drew a happy face with with katchup on my tray.
i met with a new contact for one of my accounts. it was a pretty good time. she smokes alot. i had chili and a house salad. this place has great ranch... and the chili came with those really good super thin corn chips.

just now i had to go to cookies by design for one of those millionaire cookies. most depressingly they were out. but they have good pnut butter cookies. they have reeses cup peices in them.
I was banking on leftovers for lunch today, but noah ate more than I was expecting. Instead I went to the buffet at India Palace II located in a weird shopping center in a gas station parking lot. It was fabulous. I decided that eating by yourself at a buffet is perfect, b/c even if you are with someone, inevitable your timing for refills gets off, and you're never sitting at the table at the same time anyway.

Friday, September 17, 2004

since its flooding here the call center has been totally overrun with calls. my mom was going to do this catering so she sent all the stuff here. we had this big spread of dill rolls and boiled shrimp and ham and baby carrot cakes. she even sent me the cocktail sauce stuff.

Tuesday, September 14, 2004

I just got back from eating a Bridge Hampton sandwhich from Gandolfo's. It wasn't enough so I had to eat two.
someone recently emailed The Lunch Blog with their lunch:

i had a meditteranean bagel sandwich from my favorite muffin. it gave me onion breath because red onions are included. and while delicious, red onions give you bad breath.

included in the value meal is your choice of muffin. i chose the cherry cheesecake muffin and saved it for last because it's that good.

i just went to my parents for lunch. they had lots of lake leftovers. i mainly had a ham and swiss sandwich and bleu cheese and crackers. my mom said my shirt looks disgusting and now im so self conscious.

Thursday, September 02, 2004

im so tired and i had to go to office depot to get this manager a printer toner cartridge. i was so starving and bk was right there. i got back and wolfed down a whopper at unbelievable speed. now my coworker is complaining that is smells oniony and like HotDog King in here.

Monday, August 30, 2004

for lunch today i consumed a spicy thai tunafish wrap purchased from the 16th street deli. my receptionist intruduced me to them and i have been having them about every other week since.

Friday, August 27, 2004

All week we've been tlaking about going to waffle house this friday. I think i encouraged megan into getting the double order of hashbrowns, extra crispy, scattered and peppered. she also had a grilled cheese. This was an amazing amount of food.

I had the blt and single order scattered & covered xtra crispy.

I'm wondering if xtra cripy actually means xtra grease. The waitress instead of the line cook made the hashbrowns and she looked the cat who at the canary she was so proud of how golden brown they were.

I think megan's gonna puke, and never go back to the WH.

Wednesday, August 25, 2004

today i had left over italian food. i'm not sure where from or even what it was. it tasted good though.
megan had a frozen bean burrito with an oatmeal raisin cookie and i had chicken enchiladas and an orange.

Tuesday, August 24, 2004

My dad and me went to Don Pablos... which is generally pretty sick. I had a taco chicken salad and it was sick in a delicious way.

Monday, August 23, 2004

i had left over chinese food from the crazy asian. it was beef mongloid
I had chicken salad and an orange and had to eat this energy bar not an hour later because of hunger.

megan had a peanut butter sandwich. I didn't see her eat anything else, but I could be wrong. oh wait. she had an apple.

Friday, August 20, 2004

we went to maggianos for a goodbye party. I met the person this morning. I;ve been trying out a new rotating diet where every 4th day i have one wheaty meal, instead of gorging the whole day on wheat. that place is pretty gluten filled, and give you enough food to count fo the whole day, but i went for it anyway. We had calimari and fried mozzarella patties, the maggiono's salad and caesar salad, salmon, chicken, broccolli feteccini, bread, 4 cheese ravioli, and cheesecake and tiramisu. I left before the dessert got there, megan's supposed to be coming later with the leftovers. and the desserts. unless she ate them all on the way home.

hubs, your alternate colors are sort of trippy.

naked fajitas!

Tuesday, August 17, 2004

I was starving all of yesterday so today i planned ahead and packed potato salad, and a frozen thing of this lentil soup. I was pretty full and saved the peach for this afternoon when i'm sure to get hungry again. Megan had the same thing as yesterday except with peas instead of green beans and some kind of fig bar instead of creme pie.

Monday, August 16, 2004

I had a turkey & bacon on white w/mayo and tomato. It was f'ing good partly because I was so hungry. And pasta salad.
I just ate lunch with megan in the employee kitchen. I made her bring her lunch in, even though she usually goes home to eat lunch. I ate wheat free mac & cheese (noah made it) and part of a pork tenderloin I made this weekend that was stuffed with peaches, walnuts, and a yellow pepper. Megan had a t-bone steak. Just kidding. she had green beans, wild rice, and tofu. and a piece of boston creme pie. They get the paper which it looks like you can read while you eat lunch. But you have to make sure you don't get food on the paper, or someone gets annoyed.

Friday, August 13, 2004

MP and me went to this new coffee shop that his friend opened. We had turkey sandwiches and fritos at the bar. They have Cookie Crisp and Lucky Charms there.

Thursday, August 05, 2004

i had the lunch special from the place down the street. it was BBQ pork chops, mashed potatoes and green beans. the beans were salty, the pork chops overcooked. but good flavor.
i went out with my dad for lunch. i had black bean soup with sour cream and chicken salad with tons of dill and this cubed cheese that was delish.

I don't know why, but this site kills me. Metal Babies. i bought a "ba/by, for those about to walk" for some friends that are getting ready to have a baby and a "twisted sisterm i wanna walk!" for my boss who is getting ready to have a girl (and already has a son)

Friday, July 30, 2004

i had a semi fancy spinach lasagna. also i went to the drug store to get something chocolately and ended up getting this snack mix for the corn nuts. spicy corn nuts.

Thursday, July 29, 2004

I tried the new Wendy's low carb meal.  The Tuscan Chicken or something equally dumb named.  it comes with a diet coke and a ceasar side salad, no croutons.  It was WAY too expensive over 6$ and the price isnt on the drive thru menu so I was flabbergasted when he said the total.  they dont have these meals at every Wendy's, and  I think i figured out the system.  They are only at Wendy's near office parks.  So it was pretty tasty with lots of melted parmesan cheese (the same as they put on the caesar salads,  and grilled vegetables, and a chicken breast, probably leftover grilled chicken sandwich patties.  It tasted a lot like airplane food, and even came in the same type tray.  I like airplane food though.

Wednesday, July 28, 2004

today i went to fantanos chicago subs and got a sandwich called the wiseguy. it had both prosciutto and capicola on it.  pretty good grub but the bread was too had (baggette style)

yum,
kasey

today i went home for lunch and had leftover sauasage and pasta for lunch. it's really nice living walking distance from work (sometimes).
i had lunch with two of my cousins, one of my cousins two daughters and my nana and my mom. it was for my cousins daughters birthday. we went to this new place and i had a roast beef sandwich on black bread with pickled onions and horseradish mayo. totally delish. the best part about this place was that you got two sides. i had fries and pea salad.

Tuesday, July 13, 2004

Tuesday, June 29, 2004

today i got a turkey sandwhich from the place downstairs. but what i really want to know is did you eat airplane food for lunch today chevy?????
I tried one of the new bojangles salads. I guess they're jumping on the crave too. I got the grilled chicken one, but really wanted the fried chicken one. Their dressings were above average. I got blue cheese.

Friday, June 25, 2004

i had a taco salad from taco bell... no shell. then one of these so called healthy energy bars randy got. theyre called krave and they're about as healthy as a kit kat.

we had steak fajitas. I ate more than my share. and i'm still hungry.
me and mp went to my parents for lunch. we had those good leftovers from the night before. i made this salad with shrimp, steak, fresh mozzerella, grape tomatoes, and artichokes in a fresh basil vinagrette. totally delish.

i had the best fish tacos from parilla in bend, oregon. you all must come and visit.

xoxo,
kasey

Thursday, June 17, 2004

I had three bean tacos today. they were not very exciting, with just beans and cheddar and jalapenos and salsa. but everything was prepeared really quickly. It funny to basically just use the microwave as you only kitchen applicance.

Thursday, June 10, 2004

today i went home for lunch. but i brought a quiznos classic italian sub with me.
i called my mom to see if she wanted a sandwich since i had good ingredients. she says sure so i drive home, make the sandwiches and then drive up to her house. she was all: why did you have these sandwiches in your car?

sandwiches consisted of: wheat pocketless pita, turkey, spinach, cucumbers, mozzerella, spin/art flavour allouette cheese.
i had a sbd turkey roll up.

xoxo,
kasey

Thursday, June 03, 2004

bbq plate with baked beans and slaw. no hush puppies. :(

Tuesday, June 01, 2004

I made this chickpea & tuna salad last night with chili flakes and that's what I ate for lunch. It turned out pretty well, I could eat it again.

Tuesday, May 18, 2004

I will have heavenly ham for lunch. I think i ordered the salad. i have to go back to this medical conference for the rest of the day. sigh. at least there will be ham.

Monday, May 17, 2004

we went to the indian place in burlington last night. As you might imagine places open on sunday nights are few and far between. This place is fairly new and it was a nice treat to see that it didnt suck. I got the tandoor mixed grill. it came with shrimp lamp chicken, etc. i have been sticking to the tandoor stuff at indian rest. because i cant be sure about the flour contact of teh rest of the sauces. getting that though is kind of like getting fajitas at chili.

I had leftovers for lunch. but am still starving thanks to the stupid steroids. I just looked in the mirror and realized they are making my cheeks look like chipmunk cheeks.

Thursday, May 13, 2004

i went to the baseball game again today so i had two polish sausage dogs and a beer.

Wednesday, May 12, 2004

i went to lunch with my granny and my mom and dad. we went to a new place thats in a new subdivision. i had a salad with seared scallops. it was delish, but SO small and SO expensive. It was the size of a salad you get before your meal. and it was 17 bucks!

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

KFC 3 chicken strips with mashed potatos and cole slaw and a biscuit. The chicken was dripping butter/grease. It was pretty good.
on my way to work to day i swung through the drive thru to get a taco supremo salad. I get to work and sit down to assemble the thing and its missing the chili. I ate it and moped for the rest of the day. I went to complain on my way home and they gave me another one, so I ate the salad for dinner too, this time with the chili.
a sonic burger joint has recently opened up a little ways from my work. i wasn't that impressed. it tasted like every other fast food burger i've had. not that great. their tater tot's, however, were delish.

Monday, May 10, 2004

i like the new blogger layout.
today i had a 4x6. it four different types of mediterranean salad (all on a bed of lettuce) and six falafel balls.
I had a Subway veggie on wheat with BBQ Baked Lays. This meal reminds me of college. Although I was surrounded by some serious anorexia/bulimia this meal was about as close as I ever got to low cal.

Wednesday, May 05, 2004

today i had a gyro sandwich and six falafel balls. it was pretty good.

Friday, April 30, 2004

i had a lunch meeting today and all kinds of different pizzas were ordered. i had a slice of sausage and two slices of black olive and pepperoni.

Wednesday, April 28, 2004

tooday my hr person brought me a chicken sandwhich that she wasn't able to eat so munched that down along with a bag of chips.

Monday, April 26, 2004

i went to my parents for eggplant lasagna and chicken salad. my mom made lemon bars for a catering. they were in the pan and we slowly ate the edges around the whole pan. we joked that soon thered only be one bar.
I had a lance peanut bar. i forgot to pack my lunch this morning in my rush to get to the gym so i got that at the convenience store.

Saturday, April 17, 2004

brownies.

Thursday, April 15, 2004

Sliced ham and scalloped potatoes leftover from Easter.
we sold our washer/dryer for full price so we celebrated and went out to eat. we were gonna eat at one of the places at the mall and were deciding between cheesecake factory and pf changs and decided on changs solely because it was closer. we had ribs as an appetizers and i had a vegetarian flat rice noodle dish. noah had a lo mein combo and i kept eating the steak and shrimp out of it.

Friday, April 09, 2004

ginni and david were over to help pack/move/take stuff and we had grilled chicken and sausage hard tacos.

Wednesday, April 07, 2004

you might want to stay away chevy. today i had a ny style bagel, cheese, and locks with red onions and capers.
Third day in a row of having a Burgerville Chesseburger Kids Meal and I'm starting to feel the effects.
i went home and ate all my chilis leftovers from the other night. i feel terrible about it. there was chicken tacos, nachos, mashed potatoes and gravy. hmmm... maybe i need some peanut m and m's to round this whole thing out?

Tuesday, April 06, 2004

Today and yesterday I had a Burgerville Cheeseburger Kids Meal. So good, and only $2.89.

Monday, April 05, 2004

i went with my friend scott to the bier garden for lunch. they have fantastic ranch there. i had the grilled chicken salad. it was fun to see him but depressing cos he starts his phD program at berkeley in the fall. whereas my future stretches out before me with no plans in sight.

Thursday, April 01, 2004

i had spaghetti sauce over polenta. it was okay. we are trying to eat through all the food in our cupboards, causing some stranger than usual combinations.

Wednesday, March 31, 2004

tuna salad sandwhich on olive bread with a picle, small bag of chips and a coke.

Monday, March 29, 2004

today i got a free 4x6 (4 salads, six fallafels). the girl at the counter remebered me so i acted all flattered and flirted with her. she got all blushy and super shy to my surprise, she gave me the lunch for free! which is great cause it costs close to $10. i just don't know when i should go back and if i can expect to get it free again.
Subway 6-inch veggie and a Mountain Dew. It's so hot and sunny here today that it reminds me of NC - that's what led to the intense MD craving.
my brother brought me some chocolate hobnobs from his trip to london. i just ate alot of them. they are so yummy. can you get them around durham somewhere? i think they used to have them at the old fowler's.

Friday, March 26, 2004

everyone from the office and the warehouse was gone today. one of the owners came back and brought me a piece of banana bread and a chocolate chip cookie. i hope to leave soon and find something else to eat. it's 4pm. holy crap!

Thursday, March 25, 2004

today i went to the pizza shop i used to go to all the time but haven't been to in a while. it hasn't changed any. i got one slice of sausage and on slice of pepperoni

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

i went to subconscious and had a veggie max and cheese fries. it was grand.

yesterday we went to the southend brewery. my lunch was pretty great, i had the tuna steak sandwich, but everyone that got a burger had the most well done tasteless burger they have ever had. they did not even ask them how they wanted them cooked, they just burned them to a crisp. we ended up taking a 2.5 hour lunch because the service was so bad. i was putting mine on my american express, so were 2 others and that ended up holding up about 7 people an extra half an hour because the machine was running slow on american express. everyone else that paid with cash or another charge card ended up only taking a 2 hour lunch. in the end, the big boss went over and paid for mine and the other american express card holder so that we could get out of there faster. he would not take money from me today, so i am pretty sure i owe him in a mafia kinda way.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

today i had a litlle taco bell. i like having the fire sauce usually but i starting to think that the hot sauce may actually be a little hotter.
sloppy joe hard tacos with sour cream, rice salad, half an apple and some grapes.

Friday, March 19, 2004

PB&J, Fritos and an apple. It was good - I made the jelly (well, it was actually jam) myself. I even picked the strawberries for it. And for my efforts I got some serious low back pain and a farmers tan above the line of my shorts. It's been there all winter. But the jam is DAMN good.
a box of cracker jacks

Thursday, March 18, 2004

today i went hom and had a bowl of rice leftover from chinese takeout the other night. it wasn't just rice, it had pickled ginger, sprouts, beans and carrots in it. i soaked it in soy sauce.
went with chesty to this incredible sandwich place. its worth to go and endure the bitchy little cashier who looks like a grown up child star. he looks alot like the nerd from silver spoons. not the way he actually looks now, but the way youd figured he'd look.

anyway i had a ham sandwich on rye with meunster, marinated red onions, and honey mustard. totally delish. and i had a cup of fresh butternut squash and wild rice soup. the rice saved it. it wouldve been another case of baby food soup without it.
well if ya'll thought monday was whoa i'm not even sure i should post today's. i was running late so i asked if noah could drop lunch by to me since he was working from home today. My lunches take a lot longer to make these days, so i ws very appreciative when he said yes. when he came by I was busy with some visitors so i just thanked him and then saw the lunch. I cant decide if it was brilliant or repulsive. but it was:

three hard tacos with bits of an all beef hotdog, grilled onions, boiled red cabbage, and sour cream; a bunch of grapes and three slices of plum. it was mostly all purple.

Monday, March 15, 2004

i went up to my moms since i havent seen her in a week. i had this low carb frozen dinner of chicken parmesean. the sauce and cheese and vegetables were terrif. but the chicken was way reconstituted. i also had some crackers and cheese and a low carb, low fat cookie.
In the vein of french fry sandwiches and hash brown tacos, i had mashed potato salad and swiss cheese tacos fried in bacon grease and corn chips with hummus and taco sauce.

Friday, March 12, 2004

Nachos with beans, green onions, black olives, tomatoes, sour cream and approximately 8 lbs. of cheddar cheese. It was so good going down, but by 3pm I was close to a coma.

Wednesday, March 10, 2004

PB&J and chips. It was pretty good, it reminds me of Camp Cheerio.

Tuesday, March 09, 2004

today i went home and had my moms leftover mexican hotdish for lunch. it was good but the bean, corn and cilantro salad is the best part of the whole thing.

Monday, March 08, 2004

chicken spinach salad at wendys with a frosty.
Today's lunch on a scale of 1-10 was about a 5. It was a 10 for taste and a 0 for the guilt it induced, so 5 overall. And it was... a Carl's cheeseburger w/fries and a coke. There was also a lot of mayonnaise on the burger which reminds me of a North v. South grilled cheese debate. When we moved to NC when I was 5 from Michigan we were horrified to find out that some people in NC put mayonnaise on their grilled cheese. My question, to this day, is why, WHY?
chicken salad tacos, honey mustard rice salad, and sweet potato pancakes. it was very filling.

Friday, March 05, 2004

the other night i made burritos for dinner. today i had one for lunch.

Thursday, March 04, 2004

i ate a wrap at subway. unsupersized!

Tuesday, March 02, 2004

today it was a falafel from the falafel king. and of course falafel balls.
yesterday i wrote a lengthy post describing the pros and cons of the different types of rice cracker and then deleted it by accident.

Today i had 5 vegetable spring rolls and a bowl of corn pops.

Monday, March 01, 2004

right after being almost murdered i went and got a taco bell taco salad. ive never had one before. it was super delish and obviously not SBD friendly.

Friday, February 27, 2004

My lunch is gross today which is why I wanted to post it. I'm having a turkey sandwich. The gross part is that I hate cheap wheat bread, which is what the turkey is on. And I don't mean that I just don't like it - I mean I really hate the taste of it. (It is currently 2nd on my list of foods that I hate but occasionally eat. The first is anything with banana flavor including bananas. And sometimes I force myself to eat bananas because they are good for me which is where the hatred of them came from) And even worse than that is the fact that the two pieces of bread are the end pieces. They're all hard and burned-tasting.

Chevy, I can't believe you ate a salad quietly while you were on the phone. That's impressive.

Wednesday, February 25, 2004

I had three hummus and veggie corn tortillas and two hummus and salsa tortillas. and a thing of key lime yogurt, which i think is kind of disturbing tasting. like you're just eating the fillings out of pies.
i had half an amy's cheese pizza. tre delish.

Tuesday, February 24, 2004

today i had a chicken carboron (or something like that) sandwhich from quiznos. i'm not a huge fan of quiznos but we have on across the street from work and i had a $2 off any sandwhich coupon.
i had a dumb salad. its not interesting enough to write about, but i hate when no one posts for awhile. i was in a hurry and had to eat it as quietly as i could while on the phone.

Wednesday, February 18, 2004

Subway 6" veggie on white. Barbecue chips and a mountain dew. There's a BBQ place here in Portland that makes ketchup-based BBQ. The pork sandwich grosses me out, but they have great beans and rice and mac and cheese. I went there on Sunday to get a sweet tea, because that's good too, but this time it tasted like somebody peed in it or something. It was awful. It might have burned me from sweet tea for quite awhile. I've never had tea that sweet - it made my stomach hurt.
i went home and had left over pizza again today.

Tuesday, February 17, 2004

today it was a gyro and some falafel balls. i actually ate lunch before 2:00 PM for the first time in about a week and a half. this felt awfully nice for a change.
so i attempted something close to gluten free. I had 2 corn tortillas with turkey and cheddar and mushrooms, and corn tortilla chips with some salsa i made with cider vinegar to make it GF. with cheddar cheese and sour cream. Im not so sure that Sour cream is okay, and the cheese and turkey might have some wheaty preservative in it. I bought them pre doctors visit so i dont know. and the canned tomatoes i used might be wheaty. I dont have time for this shit. or the money. i need a fucking personal chef to deal with this bullshit.

Thursday, February 12, 2004

two double decker tacos from taco bell. i spell checked that.
i wanted soup really bad so i broke down and went to the place that murdered me with gross chicken salad. i got a turkey sandwich and butternut squash soup. the soup was gross and tasted like baby food. total rip. i was so pissed i ate the bread. ( but it was multigrain so its ok.)

Wednesday, February 11, 2004

i was snowing pretty good out today so i stayed in the office building and got a sandwhich from downstairs. turykey, leetuce avacado, tomato (which i too off), bacon and mayo on a big cresaunt.
i met up with chesty and a girl from her office at souper salad. i didnt want to go there but i had nothing bettter to suggest. i had salad. but im starving for cookies ... i found a SBD friendly recipe for choc.chip peanut butter cookies im gonna try out tonite.
In case you were tempted, do NOT buy the UTZ's chunky cheddar pretzels. I dont remember what they are really called actually. They are N-AAASTY. I had those, the ginger snaps that come in those brown bags at the grocery store, a turkey "wrap" and an orange. Once again, this outlet has reminded me why i love this blog. Because i can talk shit about all the food/food places that do me wrong. Take that cheddar utz, you suck. (I love utz' salt and pepper potato chips though.)

another naked fajita today.

Monday, February 09, 2004

i had two slices of NY style sweet sausage pizza. a bit too greasey but good none the less.
I had 3 ground turkey and bean tacos and 2 rib and bean tacos. wonderful.
i brought the fajita fixins from last night over to my moms and we had big fajita salads. it was delish. i was decadent and bought the pre shredded ice burg, like you get at sub shops.

i'm ready to blow up because i just took myself out to my new favorite place: todai sushi buffet. ok, yeah, i know a sushi buffet might sound kind of raunchy, but it's actually rather fabulous. there's tons of non-raw-fish asian food, as well as all sorts of salads, a smiling man with a gold tooth who makes crepes and says "mmmm, tasty" when he hands one to you, and a cute section of bite sized desserts like mocha cake, white chocolate and almond tart, creme puffs and more. i totally pigged out on the sushi, the tempura, the "mmmm, tasty" crepe and some desserts. (p.s. sorry i haven't been posting lately. you know, crap to do and all. you understand. but i must add, food in new york city is both delish and affordable.)

Thursday, February 05, 2004

today i had a philly steak sandwhich and a big ol' thing o' fries. the fries were particularly good cause i mixed tobasco in with the ketchup. mmmmm.
me and adrienne went to atlanta bread company. it wouldnt be my choice, but that place isnt so gross. my cousin works there and we saw her. it was a shock since shes in highschool and shoulda been in school if you ask me. anyway i really wanted the panini but of course had the grilled chicken salad and a bowl of veggie chili.

i noticed that last night.

today i went to 511 West again. i had whole wheat fetticuine with chicken and mushrooms. it was delish.

yesterday i had pork tenderloin (marinated in honeycup honey mustard and rosemary), snow peas and salad.

monday i had pork temderloin stuffed with cranberries, walnuts and apricots, a side of veggies and wild rice. plus some sun dried tomato bread. it was left overs from the dinner my mom had on saturday night. everyone was really jealous of my lunch cause it looked so good and my super-boss told me that the best thing about my lunch was that it was made by someone who loves me. that melted my heart just a little.

tomorrow i am going out to get thai food with a guy i have only talked to on the phone.

i had a hamburger and a coke. the hamburger was super greasey with mushrooms, swiss, sauted onions and mayonaise. apparently i'm the only one who eats lunch anymore.

Tuesday, February 03, 2004

I had turkey on sourdough which was really good from a local market in Lake Oswego. The sandwich maker took a lot of pride in her work, which I admire. They even had the sandwich pickles (the ones where they slice the cucumber length-wise instead of the regular way. And I got gummy rasberries/blueberries for dessert.
I made veggie pizza last night and had the leftovers for lunch today.

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

i had take out today, as i had no food left after eating through the house over the last 4 days. It was a veggie wrap that was highlighted with hummus and vinagrette, and chips and a pickle. it was much better once i put the chips inside the wrap.
once again i had a naked fajita for lunch.

Tuesday, January 27, 2004

i had a route 666 burger from one of those fake 1950's burger joints called Johnny Rockets. the atmoshpere sucked, the hamburger was good.

Finally I went to the grocery store. I had a turkey/cucumber pita and grapes. and a i'm eating a tangelo, but it is kind of mushy. i got a new subscription to cooking light from henry's magazine sale, and tonight i think i'm gonna make these things that are bread stuffed with meat and cabbage. you make 10 at a time and they can be frozen.
